iPhone 15 Pro

iPhone 15 Pro Overview:

Design and Display

The iPhone 15 Pro is made from a special strong material called titanium alloy, just like its larger version. This makes it lighter and tougher than the iPhone 14 Pro. This year, all iPhones have a slightly curved shape which feels more comfortable to hold compared to the boxy edges of last year’s models. The Pro iPhones also have a new button called the “Action Button” which you can customize to do different things.

When it comes to the screen, there aren’t many changes. It’s pretty much the same as last year’s iPhone 14 Pro when you look at the specs. You get a 6.1-inch screen called “Super Retina XDR” OLED display. It’s still got that smooth 120Hz ProMotion feature and can shine super bright at 2,000 nits. The display can adjust its refresh rate from as low as 1Hz to as high as 120Hz depending on what you’re doing. Plus, it’s still protected by that tough “Ceramic Shield” like the iPhone 12.

But there’s one cool tweak – the bezels around the screen. Apple somehow managed to squeeze the same size screen into a slightly smaller phone body, so the bezels around the screen are even smaller on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Performance

Inside the iPhone 15 Pro, there’s a new powerful brain called the A17 Pro chipset. This is the second year in a row that Apple has decided to only put the latest chips in their “Pro” iPhones.

So, if you have the more affordable iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus, they won’t be as powerful as the 15 Pro. Apple says this new processor, which is built using 3nm technology, makes the graphics performance 20% better than the previous A16 Bionic chip. Plus, the part of the chip that helps with artificial intelligence stuff is twice as fast.

Overall, this new chip makes the iPhone 15 Pro about 10% faster than last year’s model. The A17 Pro also includes a USB 3 controller, which means you can charge your phone faster and transfer files quicker using the USB-C port.

Even though Apple doesn’t talk about it on its website, we know for sure that the iPhone 15 Pro has 8GB of RAM, which is more than the 6GB in last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. The basic version with 128GB storage stays the same, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max now starts with 256GB of storage.

Camera

When we talk about the cameras, the iPhone 15 Pro stands out from the others. The regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have more megapixels compared to the previous models. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a better 5X zoom camera. However, the iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t get any big upgrades in its camera hardware.

The main camera is 48 MP, the wide-angle one is 12 MP, and so is the zoom lens – all just like last year’s model. On the front, the selfie camera is also 12 MP and it comes with a special sensor for FaceID.

But what makes this camera stand out is its software. One cool thing it can do is capture how far away objects are when you take a photo. This lets you change the background blur later, which is handy for portrait shots. And although this feature sounds fancy, it’s not only available on the most expensive models.

Rest of the Specs

The new iPhones now use USB-C instead of the old Lightning port. The Pro models have faster USB-3 speeds than the 15 and 15 Plus models, which have slower USB 2.0 speeds. For wireless connections, you get WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, and NFC. There might be an improvement in ultra-wideband (UWB) connections with the new UWB chip.
